Just a quick one, the tournament organisers want the first ball up at 12 midday so we need to leave a little earlier. 10.30 am, Swansea University, Fulton House. Get in touch if you're coming!

Pre-Season Tournament + Monday Night Indoor Training.

Tomorrow (Sat 28th) there's the annual pre-season tournament at in Barry for the Welsh league. The plan is to meet at Swansea University 11am for a prompt get away.

As a number of clubs are struggling to form a squad so early in the season it's likely to be a "scratch" team made up of players from various clubs. But this will be a great way for everyone to gain experience and prepare for the new season.


If you're planning to come please get in touch as weather may become an issue.

There's also training, Monday 8pm at Swansea Tennis Centre to work on skills!

Tomorrow night, 6.30 pm, Swansea University Rugby Field, Sketty Lane! Whatever the weather!

Check out the link below to double-check you've got the right location. Also, it's recommended you park around the back of the National Pool. If coming from city centre, take the next right after the Sketty lane traffic lights. There's a gravel car park that's free and well kept.

I'll try and bring a tarp for kit if the weather is as bad as today!

Thursday Training.

Get your diaries ready lads...

There'll be training Thursday (26th) 6.30 pm on the Swansea University Rugby pitch, Sketty Lane. New faces always welcome and old hands should encourage your mates to come down!

Just to confirm we're NOT at the Tennis centre this Monday (23rd) but we're planning to get back there for next Monday (30th). More on that at a later date.

There is a tournament next Saturday (28th) and we'll go over the plans with everyone at training on Thursday a training.

Pre-Season Tournament!

Hello All,
The pre season tournament is on Saturday 28th April at Barry RFC 12pm-5pm.I know that it's still the tail end of the football/rugby season, but it would be good for the Magpies to send a side. 
It would also be good experience for any new players, as everyone is going to get a decent amount of game time. So try and encourage some new players into the club.

Training!

Firstly, thanks to everyone that came on Monday night, some new faces and some old hands. The Tennis Centre also proved a great place for indoor skills training, and we'll look into using it again in future.

Regarding training in general, from Thursday 26th we will start mid-week training. This will be at 6.30 pm on the Swansea University playing fields, Sketty Lane.

And until the full season starts we shall continue with Saturday kickarounds, but I'll confirm that later.

Come down, try a new sport and have a great time trying it. Learn to hand-pass have a go kicking some genuine kangaroo leather in a comfy indoor environment.

Swansea Magpies Indoor Training Session - Bring a buddy!

Swansea Magpies Australian Rules invite you to the formal start of training for the 2012 season! Monday, April 16th, 8pm.


With the season due to kick off in a month (Sat 12th May) there's still plenty of time left to learn the fundamentals of a great summer-time sport!


The session will be indoors at Swansea Tennis Centre (By Morrison's, near the Liberty Stadium), and will be skills-focused with handball and short-kick drills. T-shirt, shorts and trainers would be appropriate clothing.

New players are always welcome (Don't worry if you have no previous understanding of Aussie Rules), and veteran players are encouraged to bring a buddy along.

With the start of the new season approaching why not come down and give Aussie Rules a go! All the skills will be familiar and there aren't that many rules!

 Join as Saturday (7th April) midday on the Swansea University fields, by the swimming pool and the running track. Wear your usual sports kit and trainers or boots.
